LATEST NEWS JUNE 2023

I’m really excited to be playing a special joint concert with The Phoenix Singers at All Saints Church in LEEK on Sat 10th June at 7.30pm.

As well as our separate sets, there’ll be a rare chance to hear me sing several songs with this excellent choir, with Ashley Thompson’s fine arrangements: these include What Is Time? that I wrote for the choir, plus Song of The Severn, The Holy Brook, two from my Shakespeare Songs album, and other song commissions like When The Morning’s Here, and There Was Such Beauty with words by Ivor Gurney.

I do hope you can make the concert. For details and poster see below. www.phoenixsingersleek.co.uk

Later in the month, I’m looking forward to a rare trip to Wales to play NEWPORT Folk Club on Thursday 22nd June – link to website:  https://urlsand.esvalabs.com/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.newportfolkclub.co.uk&e=5b5c8f39&h=a09e6fda&f=n&p=y email:  info@newportfolkclub.co.uk

Looking ahead, I’m playing a concert on Saturday 1st July, as part of Minchinhampton Folk Club’s 20th Anniversary Festival With support from Blondes with Beards.   https://www.minchfolkclub.org.uk

The summer tour of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night by The Festival Players International – with my music –  has just begun. I do hope there’s a venue near you. It runs until the end of August – for details see link to website. http://www.thefestivalplayers.co.uk

I’m one of the judges in the Talent is Timeless Songwriting Competition run by Saskia Griffiths-Moore and the results will be announced soon.

Thank you so much for your support at the Forest of Dean Folk Club. It was great to be back in the land of F W Harvey and Leonard Clark with a friendly singing audience, plus support slots from Jan Vaisey and Ian Harvey, Jan O’Neill and Doug Maclean, and Sue Skinner and Trevor Valentine.
