JULY NEWS

LATEST NEWS

I am really looking forward to my concert with Paul Burgess on Sat 20th July  – we’ll be playing “Songs from Gloucestershire and Beyond” at Hartpury Village Hall, Glos.

Also, please put a note in your diaries for a special renion concert in Cheltenham on Friday 27th September!  See concert list below for details.

I have written and directed the music for a summer tour of Much Ado About Nothing by The Festival Players – and the 3 month tour is now well under way. The July/August performances are listed below and hopefully there should be a venue near you!

Just had a great weekend at Bromsgrove Folk Festival with Mike Silver – always a very friendly festival, and great to catch up with many friends, and also see Jez Lowe & The Bad Pennies, Enda Kenny, Anthony John Clarke, The Lost Notes, Patchwork Skies (with Charlie Limm), and Silvington.

Recently I enjoyed the Miserden Folk Day and before that, the launch of Janice Anderson’s fine album “Sleeping Dogs” (she’s one of the lead singers in acoustic quartet Blondes with Beards) – I’m playing piano and guitar on the traditional song “False False”. Contact Janice direct on janbsanderson@gmail.com

 * FESTIVAL PLAYERS INTERNATIONAL    Patron: Dame Judi Dench

Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare

Summer Tour to end of August in England, Scotland, and Wales

“I was thrilled by the crystal-clear and captivating performance by The Festival Players last summer and am delighted to commend this talented troupe.”– Dame Judi Dench, Patron

MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING  is a beguiling and romantic comedy directed by Michael Dyer with music written and directed by Johnny Coppin.

A talented team of professional actors in a colourful comedy; an all-male, fast-paced, costumed production. Most performances are open-air, so bring low-backed seating, rugs and warm, rainproof clothing. The play is 2 hours plus a 15min interval.

Note – that I DO NOT peform at these events. All the music is sung and performed by the actors.
