*RECENT NEWS
Many many thanks to all those who came to my concerts in August:
Bath Folk Festival – where I played a really enjoyable concert with Kevin Brown –
And at Shrewsbury Folk Festival with Phil Beer – where we played to a jam-packed marquee and had wonderful reaction from the audience. There’s lots of feedback from email, and Facebook below.
There’s also a video on Facebook – The song is We Shall Not Pass – originally on my 2nd album “No Going Back” and also released as a single – It will be on my new retrospective album out in November.
Other songs we played were Border County Road, Postcards From Cornwall, Hallelujah, The Winding Stair, Cotswold Lad, We Had It All, Innocents’ Song, Celebrate My Life, Roll On Dreamer, and We Shall Not Pass.
What a few weeks of music it’s been!
At Shrewsbury Folk Festival —I saw again the amazing band Skerryvore (Sco), plus Gretchen Peters (USA) The Fitzgeralds (Canada), Foreign Affairs, and Snaarmaarwaar (Belgium)
At Didmarton Bluegrass Festival – the stunning Corn Potato String Band (USA), and G-runs ’n Roses (Czech) Plus 3 wonderful UK bands..Midnight Skyracer, Medicine Creek, and The Propane Brothers-
Then I really enjoyed Alden Patterson & Dashwood at Barny’s Live Music club in Stroud; The Bob Porter Project at Miserden; Leveret at Ruskin Mill; and the Stroud Folk Weekend.

*FEEDBACK from facebook, emails texts..
Re my Shewsbury Folk Festival set with Phil Beer..
“Died and gone to heaven… with Phil Beer, a packed marquee… fantastic. Big glass of red wine in hand – perfect Sunday afternoon. Just beautiful music. It was a magic hour… I do so hope you will both play together again. You saw the reaction…. everyone just loved you! “- L.M. In Nottinghamshire
“Fabulous set from two amazing musicians”- S.L
“We just want to tell you how much we enjoyed your reunion gig with Phil at Shrewsbury Folk Festival. It brought back many happy memories and we were so pleased that there was such a huge appreciative audience” – R & P.D
“Saw a clip of you performing with Phil Beer at Shrewsbury – sounded great!” – S.B
“Great trip down memory lane with Phil – lovely set!” J.B
“Thanks to you and Phil for my request, Innocents Song, a perfect choice. Lots of happy memories seeing you perform together again playing some of my old favourites. See you at Christmas if not before “ – H.A
“Last weekend I started to seek out all the tapes I had. With Spotify I don’t need them anymore, I thought. So 85% landed in the bin. But there were some tapes that had special words or music on them. One of them was a tape taken from a radio programme in the Netherlands, were I live. I never found a cd of Johnny Coppin, I also didn’t know if I had written it correct in 1980 or so … Of course the quality had gone down, and for 15 years I hadn’t listened to it anymore. But today I did … and searched, and found your website! It wasn’t a 9 days wonder, no! I’m happy I listened to that old tape today, and very happy you’ve made more music and kept on singing. I’m grateful … Thank you, and good luck!” – M.R
