Hope you are enjoying the summer and that you’ll come along to

WORDFEST at Gloucester Cathedral on Friday 6th July

Where I perform “Forest and Vale and High Blue Hill” –  songs of the Gloucestershire poets.  details are below.

The Winter’s Tale summer tour by The Festival Players  (with my music)  is going really well –  Do try and catch a date near you!! Tour dates for June/July/August are below.

Live – I’ve seen two fantastic concerts  – by Mary Chapin Carpenter at The Forum in Bath, and The Henry Bateman Band  (the very talented singer/songwriter/guitarist back from Leeds College of Music) at a hometown gig at Fairford. Also there was a great night at Minchinhampton Folk Club  on 31 May – with such a variety of music and a high standard.

On TV – On Vintage TV – I enjoyed live sessions with Lil and Ollie, and Kimmie Rhodes (a fine US s/s from Lubbock Texas, who co-wrote The Christmas Star song) plus Ben Howard on Later with Jools Holland.

The highlights from BBC’s Biggest Weekend so far for me are – Julie Fowlis, and Karine Polwart  plus Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, and Craig David –  hopefully all still on iPlayer?

“Before I depart for France early tomorrow I must say thank you and Paul so very much for giving us such wonderful entertainment on Friday evening. I personally can’t remember you and Paul coming together quite so well as you did then and everyone who’ve spoken to me (and they are numerous) have said what a great time they all had. There was a great togetherness in the hall that evening and one person there (who hasn’t been in the village that long) said that it made him feel proud to be living in Gloucester! I hope you were pleased with the concert also and weren’t too shattered by the time you got home. I hope that in due time you will be able to visit Minsterworth again and perform for us (although I can’t guarantee there will be a spoons player in the audience as on Friday!)” – T.M-S in Minsterworth

“Good to meet you again at Minsterworth. Thanks you for  very enjoyable evening “ – G.C. In Cheltenham

“We greatly enjoyed your concert at Minsterworth, after not hearing you for so long” – J.C in Maisemore

“Thank you for another really enjoyable evening. 🙂  Cakes were good too! 😉  “ – J.P in Glos

“I thoroughly enjoyed the Songwriting weekend, and was so pleased to create some new songs. Thank you for your guidance and inspiration. I hope to record the songs soon and look forward to sending you a copy”   – M. M-W in Glos..

“Many thanks for all your help, I really enjoyed the Songwriting weekend, I feel I learned a lot, and it was lovely to meet everyone. Great hospitality and catering from the two Sues!” – S.S in Glos
